    Pierre Nora est né le 17 novembre 1931 à Paris. Licencié ès lettres et en philosophie, agrégé d'histoire, il enseigne à l. a. fin des années cinquante en Algérie avant de devenir pensionnaire de los angeles fondation Thiers en 1961.
